Intercom pricing has two parts: help desk seats and Fin outcomes. As of October 2026, Intercom’s US pricing page lists Essential at $29 (shown as $19 for new customers), Advanced at $85 and Expert at $132 per seat a month on annual billing, or $39, $99 and $139 billed monthly. Fin, the AI agent, costs $0.99 per outcome on every plan.
This guide is for the support lead or founder of an online store who runs Intercom, or is budgeting for it. Every price below comes from Intercom’s own pricing page, Fin’s pricing page and Fin’s help centre, read in US dollars on 26 October 2026. The company behind Intercom renamed itself Fin in 2026, and Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin on 10 September 2026; Intercom is still the name of its help desk.
| Plan | Annual billing (per seat a month) | Monthly billing (per seat a month) | Free Lite seats included | Fin AI Agent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $29 ($19 for new customers) | $39 ($29 for new customers) | None listed | $0.99 per outcome |
| Advanced | $85 | $99 | 20 | $0.99 per outcome |
| Expert | $132 | $139 | 50 | $0.99 per outcome |
| Fin on another help desk | No Intercom seats | No Intercom seats | Not applicable | $0.99 per outcome, $49 a month minimum including 50 outcomes |
Source: Intercom pricing page and Fin pricing page, USD, as of October 2026. Intercom labels the new-customer prices “New customers save 35%” on annual billing and “New customers save 25%” on monthly billing; its note on the monthly offer says the discount applies to all seats “for as long as you remain subscribed”.
What does Intercom cost in 2026?
Intercom costs $29 to $132 per seat a month on annual billing, as of October 2026, plus $0.99 for every Fin outcome and any usage or add-ons. A three-person team on Essential pays $87 a month in seats at list price. A twenty-person team on Advanced pays $1,700. Fin outcomes, messaging channels and add-ons come on top.
Intercom’s pricing FAQ describes two components: seats, “You pay per teammate based on your plan”, and usage, “You pay for what you use”, such as Fin outcomes and messaging channels. That gives you three lines to forecast:
- Seats: your plan price times the number of teammates who need a Full seat. The minimum is one Full seat.
- Usage: Fin outcomes at $0.99 each, plus outbound WhatsApp, SMS, bulk email and phone, which are charged on usage. Inbound support, including inbound WhatsApp conversations, is included.
- Add-ons: Copilot, Pro and Proactive Support Plus, priced separately.
Annual billing costs less than monthly on every plan: $85 against $99 on Advanced, and $132 against $139 on Expert. Intercom’s FAQ says no contract is needed for self-serve Essential and Advanced plans, which can be paid monthly or annually.
Why are there two pricing pages, Intercom and Fin?
Because Fin is sold two ways. Intercom’s pricing page sells the Intercom help desk with Fin built in, priced per seat plus $0.99 per outcome. Fin’s pricing page also sells Fin on its own, on top of a help desk you already run, at $0.99 per outcome with no Intercom seats. Both pages belong to the same company, Fin, formerly called Intercom.
Fin’s pricing page names Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Freshworks, Gorgias, Front, Dixa, Zoho and Sprinklr among the help desks Fin works with, as of October 2026. Salesforce’s completion release says nothing about pricing; our Salesforce deal guide covers what Salesforce says changes for customers. For what Fin does, start with our Intercom Fin hub.
What are the Intercom pricing plans?
Intercom’s pricing page lists three plans in October 2026: Essential, Advanced and Expert. Each includes the Intercom help desk and Fin AI Agent at $0.99 per outcome. Essential is for small teams, Advanced adds workflow automation and multiple inboxes, and Expert adds SSO, HIPAA support, SLAs and a multibrand Messenger. Seats are priced per teammate.

- Essential ($29, or $39 monthly): “Customer support for individuals, startups, and small businesses”. Messenger live chat, a shared inbox and ticketing, pre-built reports and a public help centre.
- Advanced ($85, or $99 monthly): for “growing support teams”. Adds the workflow automation builder, multiple team inboxes, round robin assignment, a private and multilingual help centre, and 20 free Lite seats.
- Expert ($132, or $139 monthly): for “large support teams”. Adds SSO and identity management, HIPAA support, service level agreements, a multibrand Messenger and help centre, and 50 free Lite seats.
A Full seat is for anyone who talks to customers; a Lite seat is free on Advanced and Expert and gives limited access for internal collaboration. Intercom shows Essential at $19 a month on annual billing for new customers. Its note on the monthly offer says that discount lasts for as long as you remain subscribed; the annual offer carries no such note, so ask how long it applies before you budget on it.
Older guides still list Start, Grow, Accelerate and Scale plans, or “people reached” charges; the October 2026 pricing page does not. To compare these plans with Zendesk’s, see our Intercom vs Zendesk guide.
How does Fin pricing work?
Fin is priced per outcome: $0.99 each, on every Intercom plan and on other help desks, as of October 2026. Fin’s pricing page says you are charged “at most once per conversation, even if Fin takes multiple actions or answers multiple questions”, and nothing “if Fin can’t answer or fails to perform an action”. Spending limits and alerts cap the bill.
| AI cost line | Price as listed (October 2026) | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|
| Fin AI Agent, on Intercom | $0.99 per outcome | At most one outcome per conversation; refunded if the conversation is reopened |
| Fin AI Agent, on another help desk | $0.99 per outcome | $49 a month minimum including 50 outcomes; no Intercom seats; via sales |
| Fin Voice | $1.99 per voice outcome | Via sales |
| Fin for Sales qualifications | $9.99 per qualification | On Intercom only |
| Copilot | $29 per agent a month annually, $35 monthly | Per agent; 10 free Copilot conversations per agent a month |
| Pro add-on (includes Fin Operator) | From $100 per workspace a month | Includes 6,000 credits a month; extra credits $0.01 each |

What counts as a Fin outcome?
A Fin outcome is either a resolution or a Procedure handoff. Fin’s outcomes article, dated 17 September 2026, defines a resolution as a conversation where, after Fin’s last answer, the customer confirms the answer helped or leaves without asking for more. A Procedure handoff is a Procedure you configured to end with a person or a workflow, which Fin completes. If you use Fin for sales on Intercom, Fin’s pricing page also bills disqualifications and self-serve routings at $0.99 and qualifications at $9.99.
- Billed: a confirmed resolution (“Ok thanks”); an assumed resolution, when the customer goes quiet for 24 hours after Fin’s last answer; a Procedure that you set up to end in a handoff, run to the end; a conversation a teammate joins after Fin has answered, if the customer had not asked for more help.
- Not billed: a customer asking for a person; escalations from Fin’s default behaviour, such as detected frustration, or from your workspace escalation rules; a Procedure that fails; a clarifying question nobody answers; a reply to a greeting only.
- Refunded: a resolved conversation the customer reopens for more help, even in a later billing period.
Because Procedure handoffs count, your number of outcomes can be higher than Fin’s resolution rate. Fin’s article says the resolution rate metric is unaffected by the outcome model, so forecast from outcomes, not from the resolution rate alone.
What does Fin cost on another help desk?
Fin on another help desk costs $0.99 per outcome with a $49 monthly minimum that includes 50 outcomes, and no Intercom seats, setup or integration fees, as of October 2026. Fin’s pricing FAQ and its outcomes article both describe the $49 base with 50 included; Intercom’s pricing page words it as a minimum monthly commitment, “e.g. 50 outcomes”. Unused included outcomes do not carry over. You keep paying for your own help desk’s seats.
It is sold through sales, and Fin’s pricing FAQ says “Minimum commitments apply”. Copilot can be added to an integration for $35 per user a month; Fin’s FAQ says it “is currently available for Salesforce”. Fin for Sales qualifications are not available outside Intercom.
What do Copilot and the Pro add-on cost?
Copilot, Intercom’s assistant for your human agents, costs $29 per agent a month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, as of October 2026, with 10 free Copilot conversations per agent each month. Pro, which includes Fin Operator, starts at $100 per workspace a month.
Intercom’s FAQ says Pro includes analysis of 500 conversations a month and 6,000 credits, with included credits scaling with conversation volume and extra credits at $0.01 each. Our Fin Operator guide covers what Operator does with those credits.
What does Intercom cost at 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 conversations a month?
With published list prices only, Fin on Intercom costs about $384 a month at 1,000 conversations, $2,335 at 5,000 and $4,670 at 10,000. Fin on another help desk costs $297, $1,485 and $2,970 in Fin fees, plus that help desk’s own seats. The examples assume 30% of conversations end in a Fin outcome and the team sizes shown.
The assumptions, so you can swap in your own:
- Each ticket is one conversation, and 30% of conversations end in a billable Fin outcome (a resolution or a Procedure handoff).
- Team size is 3, 10 and 20 Full seats, on Essential at 1,000 conversations and on Advanced at 5,000 and 10,000.
- Seats are billed annually at list price, not the new-customer price.
| 1,000 conversations a month | 5,000 conversations a month | 10,000 conversations a month | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan and team | Essential, 3 seats | Advanced, 10 seats | Advanced, 20 seats |
| Seats (annual billing) | 3 × $29 = $87 | 10 × $85 = $850 | 20 × $85 = $1,700 |
| Fin outcomes (30%) | 300 | 1,500 | 3,000 |
| Outcome fees at $0.99 | $297 | $1,485 | $2,970 |
| Fin on Intercom, monthly total | $384 | $2,335 | $4,670 |
| Fin on another help desk, Fin fees | $297 | $1,485 | $2,970 |
| Copilot on Intercom, if added ($29 per agent) | + $87 | + $290 | + $580 |
Prices from Intercom’s pricing page and Fin’s pricing page in USD, as of October 2026. Team sizes and the 30% rate are illustrative assumptions, not Intercom figures; the sums exclude tax, messaging channels and other add-ons. Fin on another help desk excludes that help desk’s seats.
The arithmetic is the same in every column: seats are teammates times the plan price, and the Fin line is outcomes times $0.99. On another help desk the $49 minimum does not bite at these volumes. Billed as the $49 base plus $0.99 for each outcome beyond the included 50, the totals are $49 + 250 × $0.99 = $296.50, $49 + 1,450 × $0.99 = $1,484.50 and $49 + 2,950 × $0.99 = $2,969.50, within a dollar of the table.
At 10,000 conversations a month, every extra 10 percentage points of Fin outcomes adds 1,000 outcomes, which is $990 a month at these prices. On the new-customer price, the 1,000-conversation team pays $57 in seats instead of $87. Monthly instead of annual billing adds $140 a month for 10 Advanced seats ($99 instead of $85) and $280 for 20.
What else should you budget for?
Beyond seats and Fin outcomes, Intercom lists usage-based messaging channels and three add-ons, and enterprise terms go through sales. Inbound support, such as answering customer emails, is included. The table lists the extras Intercom and Fin show on their US pricing pages in October 2026.
| Item | Price as listed (October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Copilot | $29 per agent a month billed annually, $35 billed monthly |
| Pro (includes Fin Operator) | From $100 per workspace a month |
| Proactive Support Plus | $99 a month, including 500 messages; extra messages charged per unit |
| Outbound WhatsApp, SMS and phone | Usage-based, varying by market and message type; inbound WhatsApp conversations included |
| Email campaigns | Charged per bulk email sent |
| Fin Voice | $1.99 per voice outcome, via sales |

- Annual or monthly: annual seats cost less on every plan: $29 against $39 on Essential, $85 against $99 on Advanced and $132 against $139 on Expert.
- Contracts: Intercom’s FAQ says contracts are optional and are used for enterprise needs, Premier Support or onboarding, and custom terms.
- Plan changes: you can change plans, seats and add-ons in your workspace; downgrades typically take effect at renewal.
- Startups: the Early Stage programme offers up to 93% off and a year of Fin free for companies with under $10M raised and 15 employees or fewer.
- Enterprise: discounts may be available through sales.
How do you forecast your Intercom bill?
Forecast an Intercom bill from your conversation volume, not your seat count alone. Count the teammates who need a Full seat, estimate how many conversations will end in a Fin outcome in a peak month, multiply by $0.99, then add channels and add-ons. Intercom’s own pricing calculator runs the same sum.
- Seats: multiply Full-seat teammates by the plan price, annual or monthly; give colleagues who only collaborate a free Lite seat on Advanced or Expert.
- Peak volume: use your busiest month, such as Black Friday or a sale, not the average.
- Outcomes: estimate the share of conversations that end in a resolution or a Procedure handoff, and multiply.
- Rate: price outcomes at $0.99, and set a spending limit or alert in Fin.
- Channels: add WhatsApp, SMS, phone and bulk email usage.
- Add-ons: add Copilot per agent, and Pro or Proactive Support Plus per workspace.
- Check the terms: ask how long the annual new-customer price lasts and, for Fin on another help desk, what minimum commitment applies.
For a store, the useful number is the cost of each resolved ticket at your own mix of order, return and delivery questions. If you are weighing other help desks, our Intercom alternatives guide and our Intercom vs Gorgias comparison cover the field.
Where does Engaige fit?
Engaige (that’s us) is the e-commerce-native AI support agent that plugs into the Intercom you already run, actually resolves across your stack and keeps improving itself. Keep your helpdesk. Replace the AI. Behind the agent is Engaige AI, which learns from your conversations and inputs, configures your support agent and shows which policies it used.

How it is priced. Engaige is a flat monthly fee tied to your ticket volume, predictable as you scale. You keep your Intercom plan for your team; Engaige works inside it through our Intercom integration, with no migration of conversations, help articles or history.
How it works in Intercom. Engaige is live in Agent Assist in hours. Every reply your team sends is compared with what the agent suggested, one of the signals Engaige AI learns from, and it proposes changes with its reasoning for you to approve. Ticket types go autonomous one at a time; once autonomous, Engaige takes the action, replies to the customer and closes the ticket in Intercom.
Built for the store. Intercom is built for SaaS support; Engaige is built for the store. Engaige reasons in the order lifecycle: where an order is, whether it can still change, whether a return is inside the window. On Shopify it combines live Admin API data with the marketing content from your storefront, and takes native actions such as refunds, cancellations and address changes. At Otrium, Engaige resolves 60% of 120,000 annual tickets end to end.
With Engaige, we are able to automatically resolve 60% of the 120,000 support tickets that we receive annually.

Is there a free plan or a free trial?
Intercom’s pricing page lists no free plan. It offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, which includes all features, Fin and add-ons; Fin’s page says trial Fin outcomes are unlimited. Startups can apply to the Early Stage programme for up to 93% off.
How much does Fin cost?
Fin costs $0.99 per outcome, as of October 2026, charged at most once per conversation. On Intercom you also pay for seats; on another help desk there are no Intercom seats and a $49 monthly minimum, including 50 outcomes, applies.
What is Intercom’s outcome-based pricing?
Intercom charges for Fin only when a conversation ends in an outcome, not for every conversation Fin joins. Escalations a customer asks for and failed Procedures are not billed.
How much is Intercom Copilot?
Copilot costs $29 per agent a month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, as of October 2026, and every agent gets 10 free Copilot conversations a month. For Fin on another help desk, Fin lists Copilot at $35 per user a month.
What does Intercom cost for 10,000 conversations a month?
With 20 Advanced seats on annual billing and 30% of conversations ending in a Fin outcome, published prices add up to $4,670 a month: $1,700 in seats and $2,970 in outcomes, before Copilot, channels and other add-ons. Your own team size and outcome rate change the sum.
Can I keep Intercom and use Engaige?
Yes. Engaige plugs into the Intercom you already run and replaces the AI on your tickets, with no migration. It is priced as a flat monthly fee tied to your ticket volume, predictable as you scale. Keep your helpdesk, replace the AI.
